Project Objectives

Create a raw and cinematic music video for Sophie Frei, capturing her presence and personality in a real-world environment.

The goal was to move away from controlled production and instead translate the performance into something authentic, spontaneous, and emotionally engaging — directly within the city.

Project Scope

Develop a concept built around:

• real environments

• natural interaction with surroundings

• confidence in public performance

Focus on showcasing the artist as unfiltered and fully present, turning everyday locations into a stage.

Production

Execute the entire production as a one-person team in Munich, working in a fast, reactive, run-and-gun style.

Setup:

• 1 camera operator

• 1 JBL speaker

• 1 artist

Capture:

• live singing in public spaces

• performances inside trains and across the city

• spontaneous dancing and movement

• real interactions within crowded environments

No closed sets, no controlled environment — the entire video was filmed in live public situations, requiring speed, awareness, and adaptability.

Post-Production

Edit the video into a cohesive cinematic story while preserving its raw and authentic feel.

Use subtle color grading and pacing to enhance emotion without losing the documentary-style realism.

Results

The project delivers a highly authentic music video that stands out through its realness and immediacy.

The combination of minimal setup and confident performance creates a strong emotional connection, proving that impactful visuals can be achieved through concept and execution rather than scale.
