Baltic Sea Circle — Arctic Rally Expedition

Project Objectives

Document one of Europe’s most extreme rally experiences — the Baltic Sea Circle — a 14-day journey across Northern Europe, spanning thousands of kilometers through Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

The goal was to capture the intensity, unpredictability, and raw adventure of the rally, while translating it into content that still feels exciting, fun, and visually engaging for the audience.

Project Scope

Creative Direction

Develop a visual narrative that balances two realities:

• the extreme conditions and challenges behind the scenes

• the fun, adventurous energy the client wanted to communicate

Focus on storytelling that makes the experience feel epic and enjoyable — while still grounded in real moments.

Production

Execute a full-scale expedition shoot with a 3-person team:

• 2 videographers

• 1 photographer

Capture across:

• multiple countries and landscapes, Germany to Denmark to Sweden to Norway and Back

• long-distance driving sequences

• extreme weather environments

Key elements included:

• FPV drone flights and Mavic aerial coverage

• ice drifting sequences and high-speed driving

• real-time documentation of unpredictable situations

Extreme Conditions

The production took place under highly demanding circumstances, including:

• temperatures reaching -20°C and below

• vehicles breaking down mid-journey

• production car failure, forcing the crew to continue by hitchhiking in a self-built truck

• unsafe and improvised seating conditions (wooden bench transport)

• rally cars sliding off roads and even flipping

• constant exposure to cold, fatigue, and unpredictable environments

Despite these challenges, the production continued without interruption.

Post-Production

Edit the content to emphasize:

• movement, energy, and adventure

• strong pacing and dynamic storytelling

• a positive, engaging tone aligned with the client’s vision

Balance raw reality with cinematic storytelling to create content that feels both authentic and inspiring.

Results

The final content successfully translates an extremely demanding real-world experience into engaging, high-energy storytelling.

The project demonstrates the ability to operate in extreme, unpredictable environments, while still delivering polished, cinematic results aligned with client expectations.

It highlights resilience, adaptability, and the capacity to turn challenging conditions into compelling visual narratives.
