Project Objectives

Create a deeply emotional and cinematic short film capturing the duality of a relationship — light and darkness, connection and tension — set within the raw and magical environment of Bali.

The goal was to translate the island’s energy into a symbolic and immersive narrative, reflecting how intense environments can bring out the deepest layers within people and relationships.

Concept & Creative Direction

Develop a story centered around:

• emotional contrast within a couple

• the push and pull between light and darkness

• the transformative energy of the environment

The narrative was built to feel poetic, symbolic, and deeply personal, rather than linear or commercial.

Production

Execute the entire project as a one-person production, covering:

• concept development

• storyboarding

• directing

• shooting

• editing

Featuring:

• 2 models (couple)

Shot across multiple locations in Bali, including:

• waterfalls

• beaches

• natural landscapes

Key visual elements:

• a burning chair on the beach as a symbolic centerpiece

• intimate moments between the couple

• environmental storytelling through nature, water, and fire

The production focused on capturing real emotion and interaction, blending performance with natural surroundings.

Post-Production

Edit the film into a cinematic, emotionally driven piece with a strong visual rhythm.

Use color grading, pacing, and sound design to enhance:

• contrast between warmth and coldness

• softness vs. intensity

• calm vs. chaos

Maintain a balance between beauty and depth, allowing the story to unfold visually.

Results

The project delivers a visually striking and emotionally layered film that stands out through its symbolism and atmosphere.

It showcases the ability to create high-end narrative content independently, driven by concept, emotion, and execution rather than scale.
